MyDenRocks Tip Of The Day.....

Here's a tip of the day for anyone associated with the music business - whether you're a musician, journalist, or even just a fan. We all know it's pretty hard to make a buck in the biz but it really bothers me when I see a lot of people (friends included), who just don't do their homework or know where to look to find new ways of generating extra income.

Wouldn't you like to put a little extra change in your pocket for doing something you already do? You have a Myspace site and you interact with it pretty much daily right? Does Myspace share any of their ad revenue with you? NO! So when you upload your song, or are listening to a song, blogging, messaging friends, etc. over at Myspace they are making money by piggybacking on something you do. They provide the platform, but without your interaction on the site - they make no cashola. They need YOU to support their ad network and generate income for THEM. However, from a musican standpoint, it's a double edged sword over there...if you're in a band you still need to reach out to new fans and Myspace is a corporate monster that you still need because the sheep continue to flock over there. BAAAAAA!

People are like sheep and will flock to whatever is hip. I don't follow the herd - never have. Never will.
